Bhubaneswar: Flight service from Odisha to several small cities will be made operational soon. The Civil Aviation Ministry held a discussion with several airlines companies in this regard on Thursday.

The airline companies chosen for the service under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) scheme are Air Deccan and Air Odisha Private Limited.

The Air Odisha will provide flight service from Bhubaneswar to Raipur, Utkela, Jaipur, Jharsuguda, Ranchi and Rourkela. Similarly, Deccan would provide service to Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in Rourkela.

While flights having 20 seats would provide the service, the price of the tickets has been fixed at Rs 2500. The new flight service would be made operational by September this year, sources said.
