Cuttack: The dispute between the Shri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) over the repair of Jagamohan has come to the fore with the former submitting a supplementary counter affidavit to the Orissa High Court today in response to a public interest litigation (PIL).

In its supplementary counter affidavit, SJTA has rejected the claim of the ASI that it has completed 80 percent of the repair work.

It has also claimed that except de-plastering of Jagamohan and repair and grouting of the Jagamohan drain, no repair work of its main structure had been undertaken by ASI.

The court, after going through the counter affidavit of the SJTA, asked the ASI to submit details of the repair work it has completed and the remaining works it is going to undertake through a fresh affidavit.

The court will hear the case next on August 29.

Talking to OTV, Subrat Satpathy, advocate of Srimandir Managing Committee, said the court asked the ASI to file a fresh affidavit about the status of the ongoing repair work of Jagamohan.

“The court also asked the ASI to hold a meeting with the Srimandir Managing Committee and the district administration and ensure timely completion of the repair work,”, he added.
