Sambalpur: Tension prevailed at Bhusan Steel Plant in Rengali of Sambalpur district after six workers were injured after they came in contact with hot steam following a mishap at SMS-I of the plant on Thursday night.

Among the six injured, one Raj Kumar Singh, a resident of Bihar, has been shifted to a private hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.

Singh has sustained over 40 per cent burn injuries, sources said.

The other injured workers have been discharged from hospital after primary treatment. Meanwhile, a case has been registered at Thelkoloi police station against the company for negligence.

Despite several attempts, the plant authorities were not available for comment on the matter.
