Rourkela: The police today arrested six more members of People's Liberation Front of India (PLFI) here taking the arrest toll to 13 in last two days.

A special team of Kuanrmunda police in Sundergarh district arrested them. An ex-army man is also among the arrested extremists, Sundergarh SP Pinak Mishra said.

"Based on the interrogation of the seven rebels who were arrested yesterday, we came to know that these cadres have mobilised others in Biramitrapur and adjoining areas. Accordingly we conducted multiple raids at various places and arrested the six extremists including an ex-army man named Jadumani Patra. He used to give inputs about arms to the outfit," Mishra told OTV over phone. They will be forwarded to court today, he added.

Seven rebels of the outlawed outfit including Zonal Committee Member Arjun Rana and Koida-Barbil area commander Karan Sai were arrested on Sunday

They were actively involved in a number of crimes in Keonjhar, Sundergarh and neighbouring Jharkhand.

The accused were arrested after raid at a camp at Kukudabahal forest under Biramitrapur police limits late on September 29 night.

One carbine, 3 double barrel rifles, one 9mm pistol, 57 rounds of live ammunition and other objectionable items were also seized from the spot.

DGP RP Sharma had informed yesterday that the arrested persons will be taken on remand for interrogation.
