Shocking: Woman drowns daughters to death!

Sambalpur: In a bizarre incident, a woman killed her two minor daughters by drowning them in water at Bamera area of the district, said police today.

During questioning, the woman admitted to killing her two daughters, aged four and two, police sources said. While she was going towards the railway station, suspicious locals informed the Gobindpur police, who detained the woman and grilled her. She also accepted she was walking towards the railway station to commit suicide.

However, it is not known why the woman, identified as Baijayanti Mahali and wife of a junior engineer of Bamera block office Durga Mahali, murdered her daughters. At the time the crime was committed, Baijayanti's husband was not at home. Family dispute is suspected to be the reason behind the crime.
