Shocking! Pregnant woman loses baby after being kicked on abdomen

Kendrapara: In a shocking incident, a pregnant woman suffered a miscarriage after she was allegedly kicked by miscreants during a loot bid at Dosia village under Pattamundai block of Kendrapara district. Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident.

The matter came to fore after the family members of the woman, who was seven-month pregnant, lodged a complaint with the Pattamundai police.

As per the complaint, the incident occurred at around 2 am on April 11 when the woman was in her house along with her two minor daughters.

Around three miscreants barged into the house and looted cash and other valuables including gold and silver ornaments from the woman and then kicked her abdomen causing a miscarriage. The woman was rushed to hospital in a critical condition where she gave birth to a dead child.

“Three miscreants looted cash and ornaments from me and then kicked me. When I reached hospital for checkup, I was informed that my child is already dead. I gave birth to a dead child. They have killed my child. I have been undergoing severe pain and mental duress,” cried the expectant mother.

On the other hand, police have arrested a person while two others involved in the incident are still absconding.
