Shocking! Mother drowns 3 children to death!

Nuapada: Four days after a similar shocking incident in Sambalpur district, a woman in Keshrajpur village under Boden police limits in the district killed her three babies by drowning them in a well today.

The police have detained the accused mother and are interrogating her.

Police said Lochani Majhi, wife of Kalyan Singh Majhi, was found screaming near a well after drowning her children. Local residents informed the other family members, who rushed to the spot only to recover the bodies of the kids.

The deceased include two boys aged four and one and a three-year old daughter.

The reason for this bizarre act is yet to be ascertained.

In the earlier incident that took place in Bamra in Sambalpur district, a woman, identified as Baijayanti Mahali, wife of a junior engineer of Bamra block office Durga Mahali, had killed her two minor daughters by drowning them in water last Friday.
