Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police has written to Thailand Embassy over the three Thai women detained on Friday after a sex racket was busted at Kharavela Nagar in Bhubaneswar.

"We have informed the embassy about the three women and are waiting for their response. Presently, we are trying to trace the mastermind behind the racket," said Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.

Others related to the case have also been interrogated to find out who all are responsible for it. Investigation is underway to uncover the person who lured the women possessing tourist visa into the field, added Bhoi.

Earlier on Saturday, Police Commissioner YB Khurania had informed that the police will investigate if the Passport Act has been violated and inspect what kind of visas the Thai women possess.

The violation of the terms and conditions can lead to their deportation from the country as well as criminal procedures can be initiated against them.  So the police is collecting information and action will be taken accordingly, he added.

It is worthwhile to mention that the house where the sex racket was functioning in the guise of a Spa reportedly belongs to noted industrialist Trailokya Mishra, who himself has been staying on the third floor.

Trailokya’s daughter-in-law Lopamudra Mishra who had earlier brought harassment and ‘wife swapping’ allegations against her husband and father-in-law said that the flesh trade must have been going on with the knowledge of both.

On the other hand, Trailokya’s son, Sabysachi Mishra has refuted such allegations saying that he had no idea about it. A Spa is a close circuit business and moreover why would we enter a spa, he said claiming they were unaware about the racket.
