Sex racket busted in Cuttack: 3 including kingpin arrested

Cuttack: In a major breakthrough, Commissionerate police busted a major sex racket that was operating in a clandestine manner in Nuapada here on Friday.

Acting on a tip-off, Madhupatna police raided a house at Nuapada and managed to nab three persons including ‘kingpin’ Premchand Rout and two customers.

According to reports, the flesh trade was going on for past couple of months in the region. Two women including one from West Bengal was also rescued by cops.

Several objectionable items have also been seized during the raid while further details are still awaited.

Earlier, the Commissionerate police had busted a prostitution racket that was operating from a hotel at College Square here in Cuttack in April this year.

Two persons were arrested while two women were rescued during the raid conducted on the hotel by a special team of Malgodown police.
