Puri: In a clear message for party workers ahead of 2019 elections, BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik urged them to serve people of Odisha with all humility.

While addressing his party members on the occasion of BJD’s 20th Foundation Day, Patnaik recalled the contribution of his late father and former CM Biju Patnaik, who was a friend of the poor and always worked for the development of the State.

“It is due to the love and affection of people that BJD has reached such a position in Odisha. Power, prestige and property are insignificant as compared to people’s love. Hence, all should work dedicatedly to serve people with all humility,” Patnaik urged his party men.

Stressing on ‘simple living and high thinking’, Patnaik said that simplicity has its own power which connects to the masses.  While quoting former President of India, APJ Abdul Kalam, Patnaik said, “Truth and simplicity is self-maintained without any cost. It is now time to fulfil the commitments made to the people.”

Patnaik also urged people to work tirelessly for the pride of Maa, Mati and Manisha (Mother, Motherland and People).

“We should continue our endeavour towards making Odisha more prosperous. Let us take a pledge to make Odisha, the No. 1 state and carve space in world history,“ Patnaik added.
