Kendrapara: Unidentified robbers allegedly looted cash and gold ornaments from as many as three houses injuring a woman grievously in Talagaon under Patkura police limits of Kendrapara district late on Tuesday night.

According to sources, in a series of robberies that took place within a span of few hours late last night, the miscreants first broke into a woman's house, attacked her with weapons and planks and looted gold ornaments and cash worth lakhs.

Critical, the woman, Arati Swain was rushed to SCB Medical in Cuttack where she is undergoing treatment.

The loot did not stop there as the attackers again broke into two other houses in the village. The victims of the loot were identified as Dhati Barik and Ramesh Pattnayak. Following the loot, the miscreants threw the boxes they had looted in a nearby field and fled.

Getting information, Patkura police reached the spot and began investigation into the incident.
