Senior Steno, RI in Vigilance net

Balasore/Bhadrak: Vigilance sleuths today conducted raids on the office and houses of Umarani Maity, Senior Steno of R&B Circle under Public Works department at Gopalgaon, on charges of accumulating assets disproportionate to his known source of income.

The anti-graft team carried out simultaneous searches at her office, ancestral house at Gopalgaon and in-laws’ house at Radhakantpur.

Sources said her bank accounts, fixed deposits, vehicles and jewelleries have been seized during the raid.

Similarly, a Revenue Inspector (RI) of Bhandaripokhari Dakshinabada of Bhadrak district was caught red-handed by vigilance officials while she was taking bribe.RI Sujata Das was taking Rs 6,000 bribe from a land owner for transfer of ownership.
