Senior Congress leaders hold closed-door meeting at LoP’s residence

Bhubaneswar: A closed-door meeting of senior Congress leaders was held at the official residence of Leader of Opposition (LoP) Narasingha Mishra here on Sunday. Veteran Congress leader Niranjan Patnaik, Opposition Chief Whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati, legislators Naba Kishore Das, Anshuman Mohanty, Prafulla Majhi and Devendra Sharma were among the few who attended the meeting.

Jharsuguda MLA Naba Kishore Das, talking to media persons after the meeting, said it was routine discussion.

When asked about the change of guard in Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) he said, “Change in PCC is in the hand of High Command, we can only give suggestions on the party organisation and strategies the party can take to challenge BJP and BJD.”

On the other hand Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Niranjan Patnaik and Narasingha Mishra did not divulge any information in this regard.

"Discussions on strengthening the party organisation and reaching near people at grassroots level were held in the meeting," said Rajnagar MLA Anshuman Mohanty. "I currently cannot say anything about the change in PCC before media," he added.
