Self-styled godman beaten up on suspicion of practising sorcery

Balasore: A self-styled godman was beaten up black and blue by locals of Bulunia village under Manipur Khunta police limits in the district for allegedly practising black magic.

As per reports, a woman of the village, Sushila Khilar had taken her daughter-in-law to the ashram of the self-styled godman as she was suffering from fever.

The sorcerer, identified as Madhusudan Nayak, cured the ailing woman but after a few days she died following which locals suspected Nayak of practising black magic and beat him up.

Meanwhile, police are yet to reach the spot.
