Bhubaneswar: Pragyana Chakrabarti from Bhubaneswar emerged as the Odisha topper by securing 63rd position in the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main), the results of which were declared on April 30.

Pragyana is a +2 student at the Naidu +2 Science College here and had been preparing for the exam for the past two years.

"My target is to do well in the JEE Advanced and complete my B.Tech in Computer Science from an IIT of my choice. After  completion of B Tech, I would like to pursue an MBA or M.Tech programme," he stated.

Elaborating on the mantra for success, he said, "One should remain focused. I consider that self study is extremely important irrespective of the number of coaching classes the student attends."

It may be noted that a total of 44,488 candidates from Odisha had registered for the JEE this year. Of them, 36,299 had appeared the exam in offline mode while 7,989 took it in online mode on April 15 and 16

A total of 2.3 lakh candidates from across the country including 1.8 lakh boys and 50,000 girls have qualified for the JEE Advanced exam.
