Bhubaneswar: Senior officials of Commissionerate Police are now busy in making elaborate security arrangements for the Budget Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly (OLA) starting tomorrow.

A three-tier security cordon has been put in place for the budget session of the Assembly, informed Police Commissioner YB Khurania after reviewing the arrangements on Monday.

"An inner cordon, outer cordon and larger outer cordon have been set up outside the Assembly. Besides, barricades have been put up where security personnel will be on guard," Khurania said.

Senior officials informed that nearly 27 platoons of police force and 100 officers of various ranks will supervise the entire security arrangements, he added.

At some places prohibitory orders under Sec 144 has been clamped while agitators will be allowed to hold dharna at the designated place away from the Assembly.

"CCTVs have been installed at key places. We will monitor the situation round round-the-clock," said Khurania adding that the Commissionerate Police is ready for any eventuality.

The Budget Session will commence from March 20 and continue till May 5 in two phases. The first phase will continue from March 20 to March 31 whereas the second phase will begin from April 11 till end of the session.
