Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: The Commissionerate police has made elaborate security arrangements in the Capital city for the two-day visit of President Ram Nath Kovind starting tomorrow.

Sources said 30 platoons of police force have been deployed in Bhubaneswar to avoid any eventuality during the President’s visit. Besides, a carcade rehearsal was conducted by the Commissionerate Police here on Thursday.

Sources said, after arriving in Bhubaneswar, Kovind will visit Cuttack and Puri to attend various programmes.

A preparatory meeting was also held in Cuttack to discuss on security arrangements in the city. DCP Cuttack Akhileswar Singh held the discussion with the SP and all IICs. The meeting had a comprehensive discussion on various arrangements at Netaji Birthplace Museum at Odia Bazaar and Anand Bhawan, the house former chief minister Biju Patnaik that has been converted into a museum and learning centre.

Kovind will deliver the third Foundation Day lecture at National Law University (NLU) in Cuttack tomorrow. To be presided over by Chief Justice of India Justice Dipak Misra, the function will be attended by Governor SC Jamir, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The President will visit Puri the following day.
