Section 144 clamped in Delang

Puri: District administration on Thursday clamped Section 144 in Delang area of Puri district following tension between two villages over a past dispute.

Sources said trouble erupted after group clash between people of Belapada and Jagdalpur villages over a petty issue. Later tension escalated after some unidentified miscreants from one group hurled crude bombs at Hata Delang School.

Though there have been no reports of any casualties, the administration has clamped down prohibitory orders to prevent any untoward situation.

Three platoons of police force have also been deployed near the School to maintain law and order in the region.
