Second charge sheet filed against pimp Sunil Meher; trader named

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police on Monday filed a second charge sheet against notorious pimp Sunil Meher in connection with his alleged involvement in a sex racket in a running car.

In the 150-page charge sheet filed today, police has named a mineral trader, besides Meher, as accused. The police has mentioned the names of as many as ten witnesses in the report.

On August 12, almost three and half months after arresting Meher from Kolkata, the police had filed the first charge sheet against him.

In the 300-page charge sheet, the police had named nine of his city-based aides, who were working as agents for him. Sunil has over 100 such agents across the country who work as ‘middlemen’ between customers and sex workers, including foreign girls, it said.

A total of 12 cases have been registered against Meher, who has been arrested at least seven times in Odisha since 2010. Police said he had links with almost all sex rackets busted in the state in the past few months. Police also strongly suspect Meher has links with an international sex racket busted at Chandrasekharpur area here on March 23.

A 30-year-old Kyrghyz woman was rescued and a pimp, owing allegiance to Meher, arrested during a raid conducted by Commissionerate police.
