Seashore scam: Top OAS officer arrested by CBI

Bhubaneswar: A senior OAS officer was on Tuesday arrested by CBI in connection with Seashore chit fund scam.

Soon after the arrest, accused officer Pradeep Kumar Hota was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as he was unwell.

Hota had allegedly extended undue favours to the ponzi firm during his tenure as Managing Director (MD) of APICOL (Agricultural Promotion & Investment Corporation of Odisha Limited ), CBI sources said.

The joint bank account of Hota had received Rs 19.70 lakh suspiciously between 2008 and 2011, sources added.
