Seashore scam: Prabhat Biswal’s wife appears before CBI

Bhubaneswar: A week after sending her representative to depose before CBI, Laxmi Bilasini Biswal, wife of Choudwar-Cuttack MLA Prabhat Biswal, on Monday appeared personally before the central probe agency in connection with Seashore scam.

CBI sources said during the one-hour interrogation she was questioned over a land deal with Seashore Group chief Prashant Dash, to which Laxmi denied.

"They (CBI) are investigating the case and in the process the agency had asked me to submit some documents", she said.

Asked about the land deal with the company she said, "The cash deal was with properly documented and I have already informed this to the investigating agency".

Laxmi arrived at the regional CBI office here today following the CBI notice to the legislator’s wife on December 2.

Earlier, the CBI had summoned her on November 26 to appear. However, she had sent her representative on November 28, who produced some documents at the office.

Laxmi Bilasini was grilled by the agency along with his MLA husband in 2014 over their alleged links in the scam.
