On Thursday, a three-member team of the Department of Geology of the Utkal University had visited the pilgrim town for an on-the-spot review of the situation.

Notably, the beach in the pilgrim town has been swallowed by tidal waves creating fear among tourists and local people. Many spots have been red flagged by the administration restricting the entry of tourists. Vendors on the beach have been asked to shift out from the place.
