Bhubaneswar: In the wake of a sharp rise in temperature, the School and Mass Education Department has ordered a change in timing of all government and private schools across the State from today to protect children from the ill-effects of early summers.

Acting on the rising mercury level, the Directorate had earlier issued a notice to all Government and private schools functioning in the State to reschedule and limit their timings to 11:00 am. The schools will follow the new timings from today and will not continue after 11:00 am.

Considering the heat wave in the past few days, the Directorate has also advised the school authorities to make proper arrangement of drinking water on the campus premises and ensure that all precautionary measures have been taken to protect children from heat strokes.
