School student killed, mob sets truck on fire in Nayagarh

Nayagarh: A mini truck was set on fire after a school student was killed in a road mishap at Gadabanikilo village in Nayagarh district here on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Smruti Ranjan Behera (9).

According to reports, Behera was killed after he was hit by a speeding stone-laden truck. Irate over the incident, the locals blocked Nayagarh-Ranpur road to press for compensation for the family of the deceased.

Though senior police and adminsitraive officials have rushed to the spot, tension still prevails as locals are demanding immediate arrest of the truck driver and compensation to the family of the deceased.
