SCB junior docs’ stir enters 8th day

Cuttack: Health services at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack continue to get badly affected as the cease-work agitation by junior doctors of Urology department with support from their counterparts at VIMSAR in Burla entered the eighth day.

Expressing solidarity, even the PG students in VIMSAR joined duty wearing black badges today.

Moreover, as many as 150 House Surgeons and 160 senior resident doctors of SCB have taken leave en masse to extend support to the stir.

The postgraduate doctors of the Urology department have been demanding suspension of their department head Duteswar Hota for allegedly harassing them mentally and physically.

The strike will continue till the head of Urology department is suspended, the agitators said.
