SCB doctor gets conditional bail

Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court on Friday granted conditional bail to Rabindra Kumar Jena, Head of the Clinical Haematology Department of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after he was arrested on charges of irregularities in Odisha State Treatment Fund (OSTF) and amassing disproportionate assets.

Sources said, the court has granted bail on conditions that Jena will furnish Rs 50,000 and two sureties. The court also directed Jena not to leave Odisha without court permission. Besides, Jena has been asked to appear before the Investigating Officer along with the guarantors on the dates required.

Earlier on December 21, 2017, Vigilance sleuths nabbed Jena near Laxmannathpur in Balasore district while he was returning from West Bengal on charges of showing undue favours to pharmaceutical companies in exchange of financial gains.
