SC Jamir bids farewell to Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Former Governor of Odisha SC Jamir was given a ceremonial sent-off at a special function held at Biju Patnaik
International Airport here on Saturday.

Jamir's tenure as Odisha Governor had ended on March 20 while Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik took oath as acting Govenor of Odisha on March 21.

Malik has been given additional charges and will perform his duties as Odisha Govenor until regular arrangements are made, official sources said.

The five-time Chief Minister of Nagaland S C Jamir had earlier taken over as Odisha governor in March 2013 after serving as Governor of Goa and Maharashtra.

The outgoing Governor SC Jamir was given a guard-of-honour at the airport.

Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had paid a courtesy visit to Jamir at Raj Bhawan yesterday.
