Sarpanch’s husband attacked in Angul

Angul: Owing to past political rivalry, the husband of Tendulei Sarpanch of Angul district Liza Behera was attacked by some unknown miscreants late on Monday night.

According to reports, when Liza's husband Kedara Behera, was returning home with his cousin Madan on a bike at around 1.30 am, eight miscreants attacked him with sharp weapons and fled the spot. He sustained injuries in his legs, head and hands.

He was admitted to Talcher Central Hospital in critical condition and later shifted to a private hospital in Cuttack as his condition deteriorated.

As per the complaint filed by Liza, the miscreants attacked him due to past political rivalry.  Meanwhile, police has detained two persons in this connection and started investigation. Search is on to nab the other accused, police said.
