Cuttack: Health condition of the six-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped in Salepur of Cuttack district is still critical, said doctors at the SCB Medical College and Hospital.

Speaking to media, SCB emergency officer, Bhubanananda Moharana said that the rape survivor is being treated by a team of 13 doctors. However, there are no signs of improvement in her health condition and she is in a critical state now, he added.

"Condition of the patient is very critical and we cannot predict whether she will survive or not. She is now on ventilator and further treatment will done as per the decision of the 13-member doctors' team," Moharana said.

On April 21, the girl was rescued in a critical condition from a school veranda under Salepur police limits. The girl who had suffered injuries in her head, face, neck, chest and private parts, was rushed to a hospital in Salepur and later shifted to the SCB.

Her family members have alleged that the girl was raped and an attempt was also made to kill her later.
