Salaries of block grant teachers, staffs hiked

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today announced a hike in the salary of all block grant college teachers and staffs.

Higher Education minister Pradip Panigrahi said the government has decided to increase the salaries of the block grant teachers and staff by 25 percent with effect from May 31, 2016.

He said these teachers and staffs of 488 and 662 categories will get their revised salary with retrospective effect from June 1, 2016 while there will be a 3 percent hike in their salary every year.

Apart from these teachers and staffs, teachers of Shastri and Upashastri colleges will also benefit from today's decision of the government.

The minister further informed that henceforth, the Grant-in-Aid policy will replace the Block Grant system.
