Rural works engineer in Vigilance net

Cuttack: An executive engineer of the rural works department landed in Vigilance net as anti-corruption sleuths raided his houses and office for amassing disproportionate assets. The errant engineer has been identified as Subodh Routray.

According to sources, Routray's house in Mahanadi Vihar in Cuttack, his office and his in-laws' house were raided by vigilance sleuths today. The vigilane officials also raided a house belonging to Routray in Niladri Vihar here where they seized gold ornaments, bank passbooks, and information regarding lockers in various banks.

Moreover, a flat in Bengaluru in his son's name has been identified and some luxury vehicles have also been seized, said sources.

Simultaneus raids were conducted by the Vigilane department in nine separate places.

Notably, Routray is an executive engineer in the Cuttack Rural Works division-1.
