Bhubaneswar: A day after initial hiccups, the Rukuna Rath of Lord Lingaraj today reached the Mausi Maa temple in Bhubaneswar.

The chariot resumed its journey in the afternoon and reached the Mausi Maa temple after it was pulled by devotees with much enthusiasm in the evening.

Earlier, the chariot pulling had to be stopped after ‘Sarathi’ (charioteer) of Rukuna Rath Nakasingha Khuntia got injured. He accidentally fell off the chariot near Badheibanka Chhak, sources said.

Later, he again took charge of the chariot and the Rukuna Rath reached the Mausi Maa temple at around 6.30 PM.

The pulling of Rukuna Rath was suspended after the rope of the chariot snapped thrice yesterday.
