Rs 5L looted from petrol pump in Bolangir

Bolangir: Unidentified miscreants looted Rs 5 lakh from a petrol pump located behind Bolangir bus stand late last night. Surprisingly, the loot happened just 50 metre away from the town police station.

As per sources, the miscreants looted the money from the office Bhajanlal petrol pump last night when all staff had left after closing the office. When the staff reached this morning, they found the grill gate broken. Later, the petrol pump staff informed the police, following which the Town police along with a scientific team reached the spot and started investigation.

The cops seized two digging bars from the spot. Sources said since no CCTC camera have been installed in the petrol pump, it might be difficult for the cops to nab the culprits.

In a similar incident, miscreants attempted to rob a branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) in Jharigaon and two ATMs in Raighar of Nabrangpur district last night.

Sources said the robbers attempted to loot two ATMs of Axis and ICICI banks in Raighar. Police and bank officials are examining the CCTV footage and estimating the loss.
