Rs 23 lakh looted from ATM cash van

Bhadrak: In a daring heist in broad day light, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 23 lakh from an ATM van near the by-pass road here today.

A FIR has been registered in this regard at Town police station following which police have sealed all the roads connecting the town and are investigating the case.

According to the complaint, the van carrying the cash with a bank employee and three security guards was on its way to the the ATM counter to refill the cash.

The miscreants threw two notes of Rs 20 denomination and asked the security personnel in the van that the money had slipped from the vehicle. While they tried to get the notes from ground, the miscreants decamped with the cash bag.
