Robbery bid at Berhampur Post Office foiled 

Berhampur: A robbery attempt at Berhampur Post Office was foiled as some villagers managed to nab a miscreant while he was trying to escape with Rs 1.60 lakh from the cash counter today.

According to sources, a female staff was working at the cash counter this morning. Finding her busy in her work, the miscreant robbed the cash from the counter and fled. Another female staff of the post office started screaming for help. Later, some villagers chased and nabbed the man before handing him over to police.

Sources said the incident has been captured in the CCTV camera of the post office. The incident occurred due to lapses in security, said post-office AGM Binaydhar Bisoi.
