Robbers loot cash from Insurance Company in Berhampur

Berhampur: Unidentified robbers reportedly looted cash from a branch of National Insurance Company Ltd. near Tata Benz Square in Berhampur Sunday night.

The incident is suspected to have happened late last night as the company staff, upon reaching office this morning, found the locks broken.

The staff alleged that the robbers fled with all the cash, estimated to be around Rs 60,000, which was kept inside the locker of the company.

Following the incident, a complaint was lodged with the Baidyanathpur police station, while police have begun probe into the case.

"As soon as I came to know that all the doors were open and the locks found broken this morning, we rushed to office. The iron chest where all the money was kept was also found broken," said Debi Prasad Das, Branch Co-ordinator.
