Puri/Balasore: In two separate road mishaps today, two people were killed near Pipili in Puri district while at least thirty five passengers had a narrow escape when the bus they were travelling in rammed into the parapet of a bridge near Soro in Balasore district.

A Bolero, which was on the way to Puri from Rajkanika in Kendrapara district, collided with the road divider at Dahisipatna near Pipili killing two and critically injuring seven. The injured have been shifted to Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle fled the spot.

In the other incident, the driver of a bus lost control and hit the parapet of a bridge at Chapolia in Soro. The fate of 35 passengers in the bus tangled between the parapet of the bridge and the water below for a few minutes on Sunday morning as the bus would have fell off 30 ft below.

As per reports, six passengers have sustained minor injuries.
