Risking life, youths have field day irritating jumbos

Athagarh: Without realising the risk involved, some youths were seen posing for selfies with a herd of wild elephants near Baula in Khuntuni range under Athagarh forest division.

A visual capturing the risky encounter showed youths getting extremely close to the wild animals- some running awkwardly towards them while few others busy posing for photos.

Ignoring any kind of danger involved some of them were also seen offering the elephants sugarcane.

While few jumbos chose to go close to the mischief makers some others got irritated at the nuisance and began chasing them. But that didn’t deter them from leaving the animals as they were.

Even though the youths were seen disturbing the animals for some time there was no sign of any forest officials.
