Republic Day: Manas Sahoo's sand animation on Puri beach grabs eyeballs

Puri: Noted sand animator and sculptor Manas Sahoo created a sand animation at the Light House beach here to spread message of patriotism on 69th Republic Day today.

He used around 15 tonne of sand for creating the 15-ft long sculpture which immediately became a massive attraction for tourists who turned up in hundreds to the spot and clicked pictures.

With a message 'Long Live Democracy', Sahoo created the tri-colour, India Gate and Red Fort with sand in a bid to explain the great heritage of the country. Through his art, Sahoo also extended the Republic Day wish.

"We created this sculpture to inculcate a sense of patriotism in every Indian's mind. Let all Indians be united irrespective of caste, creed and religion on the Republic Day," the sand sculptor said.
