Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) finalised April 19 as the date for repolling in the 14 places where the three-tier panchayat polls were stalled due to death of contestants. Notices regarding this will be sent to Panchayat offices, Block offices, Sub-Collector offices and District Collector offices on March 17.

According to sources aspiring candidates will be able to file their nomination papers within March 21 to March 25. The papers will be checked on March 27 and final list of candidates will be published on March 28.

March 30 is scheduled as the last date of withdrawing the nomination papers.

Polling will be held from morning 7 o'clock to 12 noon on April 19 and counting will start from 1 pm. Names of winners will be declared on April 20.

Similarly, the SEC has announced dates for re-polling at four blocks for Samiti Member posts. Further election for Block Chairman will be held on May 1 and for Block Deputy Chairman will be held on May 12.

It may be mentioned that, following the stay order of the High Court, election was not held at Parjang block in Dhenkanal, Kolabira block in Jharsuguda, Bhawanipatna block in Kalahandi and Rengali panchayat in Sambalpur district.
