Puri:  Repair work of the Jay-Vijay Dwar of Puri Srimandir will commence on May 1 and will be completed in a month, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) informed the High Court through an affidavit today.

Earlier on April  24, the apex court had directed the ASI to complete the repair work by May 31.

The temple core committee will today  meet  at the ASI office at Baliapanda to sketch out a comprehensive plan on the repair work and have a detailed discussion on how to complete the work in a month's time. The committee will also discuss the court's directive asking the ASI to inspect and submit a report on the current condition of all other temples surrounding the sanctum sanctorum and the Mukti Mandap,

" We have planned to design a special roadmap to carry out inspection of the temples' condition," an ASI official.

Sources said alternative arrangements will be made to ensure hassle-free darshan by devotees during the repair work.The meeting will have committee working president Prof GC Mitra and ASI member HS Abhay Nayak, engineer Dharmapada Mishra and Padmalochan Mohapatra in attendance.
