Rengali: As many as 10 persons including father, mother and sister of a young woman, who was killed at Bijapali village in Jharsuguda district on Friday, were arrested by the local police today on charges of abetting two prime accused in committing the murder.

Informing newsmen about the arrest, Nrupa Charan Dandasena, SDPO, Brajarajnagar said, “In the Sanjukta murder case, 10 others including parents of the victim were arrested and forwarded to a court for helping the main accused to commit the crime.”

Notably, yesterday, two cousins of the victim, Santoshi and Soudamini, who are prime accused in the murder case, were arrested.

Police sources said the two accused stabbed Sanjukta with a ‘Trishul’ in the name of Shiv Puja.

Meanwhile, police arrested a woman, identified as Suchitra Dhurua, on charges of baptising people with the ‘Shiva Dikhya’ and seized some register books, receipts and photos from her possession.
