Bhubaneswar: The recruitment process to fill a total of 320 posts of lecturer for the government degree colleges across Odisha is expected to begin soon.

The Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha, has written a letter in this regard for the creation of 320 posts of lecturers.

The department has taken the decision after a reassessment of the workload of different government degree colleges functioning under its administrative control.

The recruitment will be done in the scale of pay of Rs 15,600 to Rs 39,100 with AGP Rs 6000, the letter read.

As per the letter, the posts will carry usual pay and allowances as admissible under rules of the State government from time to time. The pay scale for the posts will be effective from the date of the issue of this order, November 25, 2017.

As per media reports, out of 919 posts of lecturer in government colleges in the districts under Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) only, 462 are lying vacant.

Besides, there are 31 government and 115 private colleges in the WODC region but regular posts of principal are vacant in almost all these colleges.
