Bhubaneswar: Over a hundred customers of real estate firm Siddhi Vinayak Developers Pvt Ltd.on Monday gheraoed the office of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Crime Branch here, demanding action against the company’s head for defrauding them.

The agitated customers alleged that the firm’s managing director (MD) Dillip Kumar Gadanayak had promised them to hand over flats in two years after taking around Rs 10 crore from them in 2011.

“But he neither handed over the flats nor returned the money to us,” said a customer.

Though separate agreements in this regard were signed between the company and the customers in 2011 during the transaction of money, the company was not responding to their calls when they enquired about the position of flats.

“When we demanded our money back, he reneged on his commitment,” he stated.

They also complained that cheques issued to some customers bounced.

The protesters said they were constrained to resort to gherao the EOW office today after their complaints at the Nayapalli police station and EOW in the past were not acted upon.
