Cuttack: A day after cancer patients at the State government-run Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre in Cuttack alleged irregularities in distribution of medicines meant for free-supply under the Niramaya scheme, the Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) Central Division ordered a probe into the matter.

In a report telecast by OTV on October 9, it was detailed how people were rueing the lack of prescribed medicines at Niramaya counters in the hospital.

It was also alleged that the patients were forced to buy medicines from stores outside the hospital at exorbitant prices.

Taking cognizance of the plight of the patients, the RDC today ordered a probe to establish the authenticity of the allegations.
