Rayagada-Koraput traffic halted as approach road washed away

Laxmipur: Vehicular communication between Rayagada and Koraput came to a grinding halt today after an under construction approach road was washed away here at Burja in Koraput district due to incessant rains today.

Hundreds of commuters have been stranded as vehicles carrying them have stood on both side of NH 326. Tourists coming to visit Gupteswar and Jagannath temple in Jeypore have been stranded in absence of any diversion.

Locals alleged that low quality construction led to damage of the road causing inconvenience to the commuters. They said poor quality of work also have caused many accidents in the area.
