“Two groups of students were involved in a violent clash in November last year. Following the clash, both the groups had brought complaint against each other. As the number of students involved was very large more time was needed for investigation. We analyzed the CCTV footage, collected evidence from other officials and faculty members, following which the disciplinary committee submitted a report. Based on the report, 3 students have been detained for 4 years while 3 others have been detained for 2 years. Another ten students have been given warning. The said students have the right to appeal before the executive counsil against this decision,” said Vice Chancellor of the University, Prakash Chandra Sarangi.

However, students have strongly criticized the suspension decision taken by the authorities.
