Bhubaneswar: The Ravenshaw College, the first and the oldest college of Odisha, would celebrate its 150th Foundation Day on January 20.

The institution would celebrate the event for three days.

Talking to media persons, Prof Prakash Chandra Sarangi, vice chancellor of Ravenshaw University said the pristine institution has planned a yearlong activity to celebrate the 150th Foundation Day.

Giving the detailed schedule of the event, he said “On the first day, Chancellor of University and Governor SC Jamir would inaugurate the celebration in which chief minister Naveen Patnaik would be the chief guest. Apart from this, Higher Education minister Pradip Panigrahi and School and Mass Education minister Debi Prasad Mishra would also grace the event as the guest of honour. The Ravenshaw students will take part in all cultural programmes. We will also invite the alumni to participate in the event of their alma mater,” he added.

He further said on the second day of the event, an international seminar with a topic ‘Ravenshaw: Past, present and future’ will be held. “In this seminar, we will try to recall the past of the Ravenshaw College and think of its future,” Sarangi pointed out.
