Bhubaneswar: Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon courted controversy by shooting for a commercial in the 'No Camera Zone' inside the premises of Lingaraj Temple in Odisha's capital city of Bhubaneswar.

The incident came to the fore after a clip of the same, shot at the restricted parts of the shrine and its periphery, was allegedly uploaded on social media sites by the advertising agency. In the viral clip, Raveena is seen offering some beauty tips.

Despite strict restrictions on taking cameras inside the temple, the commercial was shot and several pictures were taken inside the temple premises. It is a clear case of violation of the security norms, alleged servitors of the centuries-old temple, adding that the incident has also hurt sentiments of the devotees.

"The shooting was done at prohibited areas inside the temple. Besides, the temple authorities were also not informed about the visit of the actress. We will take appropriate action against the agency involved in the matter," said the temple's Brahmin Nijog secretary, Biranchi Narayan Pati.

Similarly, management-in-charge of Lingaraj temple administration, Rajiv Lochan Parida said, "Only servitors are allowed to take mobiles inside the temple. No one had sought permission for the shoot. I will carry out a probe and submit a report in this regard to the additional district magistrate soon."

Meanwhile, the Archaeological Survey of India has also reportedly launched an investigation into the matter.
