Puri: In view of the large number of devotees expected to visit Puri during the nine-day long Rath Yatra from June 25, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has decided to run 186 special trains to the Pilgrim city.

General Manger of East Coast Railway Umesh Singh informed this at a Press Meet today. As part of security measures, 1200 railway protection force and government railway police will be deployed while 60 CCTV cameras, special dog squad, and for the first time two drones will keep eye on Puri Railway Station, Singh said.

He further added, 60 additional ticket counters will be set up to facilitate passengers at Puri including 24 counters at Cuttack, Berhampur, Khallikote, Balugaon, Bhadrak, Jajpur-Keonjhar Road and Paradip stations.

Similarly, passengers will get benefit of good quality subsidised Janata meal and clean drinking water at only Rs 15.

In view of the Rath Yatra, additional buses will also be pressed into service to and from Puri.
